Since 2019, Darla Brown has served as Board Chair for the Patient Empowerment Network (PEN). Her cancer journey, which included challenges navigating the complexities of diagnosis and treatment, fueled Darla’s commitment to patient empowerment and decision to become a member of PEN’s Board of Directors. As an entrepreneur and business executive, Darla has focused on developing innovative solutions to engage consumers, enhance healthcare systems, and improve care delivery. As Board Chair, Darla brings strategic planning, governance, financial oversight and leadership experience that has led PEN to significant growth during her tenure. Her acumen in positioning and communicating PEN’s mission has expanded its leadership and reach throughout the cancer patient advocacy landscape.
