Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN)

The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) is a community of patients, caregivers, survivors, advocates, medical and research professionals united in support of people impacted by bladder cancer. BCAN is on the front-lines advocating for greater public awareness and increased funding for research to identify effective treatments and eventually, a cure for bladder cancer. 

Canadian MPN Network

The Canadian MPN Network was founded in 2014. Their purpose as an organization is to connect and help Canadians from coast to coast to coast who are dealing the challenges of living with a myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) disorder.

Vision

Better lives for all Canadians with a Myeloproliferative Neoplasm (MPN) disorder.

Mission

They are a patient-led organization committed to improving the lives of all Canadians living with myeloproliferative neoplasms through patient advocacy, patient support groups, and patient communication while connecting with the MPN medical community and providing up-to-date information on research, treatments and clinical studies.

Goals

  • Patient communication: Provide reliable and accurate information about MPNs for Canadian patients through many platforms.
  • Patient advocacy: Inform healthcare decision-makers about MPNs and the needs of Canadians living with them.
  • Annual conference: Hold an annual conference that will allow Canadian patients to connect with other patients and medical experts.
  • Regional support groups: Encourage the development of patient groups in every region of Canada.
  • Collaboration with MPN medical community: Engage the Canadian MPN medical community to provide patient perspective and seek collaboration on effective communications.

CanCare

CanCare, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides one-on-one, personal support to cancer patients and their loved ones by matching them with a survivor or caregiver of the same type of cancer they are experiencing. CanCare’s services are confidential and provided without charge.

Cancer 101

Cancer 101‘s mission is to empower, inform and engage patients and their care partners to navigate their cancer care and partner with their healthcare team to make informed decisions

To fulfill its mission, CANCER101, founded in 2002:

  • Meets the cancer patient and caregiver on the front line to help guide next steps
  • Personalizes the patient experience…one patient at a time through tailored education based on their personal preferences
  • Provides innovative tools and resources patients and their families need to manage their cancer in partnership with their health care team
  • Creates a comprehensive roadmap for patients by filtering the “garbage from gold” so that patients can access important information when they need it most

Cancer Awareness Network

The main goal of the Cancer Awareness Network for Children (CAN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating and diminishing some of the fears associated with the diagnosis of cancer for people of all ages. CAN is designed to inform, motivate, and educate individuals assisting in an effective and positive health care experience.   

Cancer Can’t

Cancer Can’t is a non profit organization started by a cancer patient named Jonathon Van Kuelen and his wife, Becky Van Keulen. Their mission is to help people fighting cancer in the Inland Northwest by improving their daily lives and circumstances. Jonathan has since passed away, but Becky continues to work with Cancer Can’t making sure Jonathan’s vision of helping other patients comes to fruition. 

Cancer Commons

Cancer Commons is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by metastatic melanoma survivor Marty Tenenbaum, PhD that provides personalized action plans to metastatic cancer patients, while learning from every patient to help others urgently seeking answers. 

CancerGRACE

The Global Resource for Advancing Cancer Education (GRACE) provides expert-mediated information on current and emerging cancer management options in order to empower patients, caregivers, and health professionals to become direct partners in cancer care

GRACE is a nonprofit organization that was developed as a means of improving the overall medical care for cancer patients by democratizing cutting edge information on optimal cancer management and providing it directly to patients. We recognized that while there is an overwhelming amount of new information available to physicians, actually more than they could integrate, patients and their families often have a deep interest in their own care and often have the time and motivation to ensure that they are receiving the best treatment possible.

Cancer Hope Network

Cancer Hope Network provides free and confidential 1:1 peer support for cancer patients, survivors and the people who love them. Our trained survivor and caregiver volunteer mentors provide support from diagnosis, through treatment and into survivorship. They have faced more than 98% of the cancers that will be diagnosed this year, speak 15 languages and are prepared to offer hope and guidance through a wide variety of challenges that accompany a cancer diagnosis. 

All volunteer and client matches are overseen and supported from beginning to end by a team of healthcare and social work professionals.

Cancer Research Institute

Cancer Research Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to harnessing the immune system’s power to control and potentially cure all types of cancer. They fund the most innovative clinical and laboratory research around the world, support the next generation of the field’s leaders, and serve as the trusted source of information on immunotherapy for cancer patients and their caregivers.

CAN is the nation’s leading family caregiver organization working to improve the quality of life for the more than 90 million Americans who care for loved ones with chronic conditions, disabilities, disease, or the frailties of old age. 

Colon Cancer Coalition

The Colon Cancer Coalition‘s mission is to empower local communities to promote prevention and early detection of colon cancer, and to provide support to those affected.
