Youre Invited! We hope you‘ll join us for our next Empowered #patientchat as we discuss the accessibility of patients to attend healthcare conferences with special guest HealthSparq (@HealthSparq). Joining us will be two patient scholarship winners, Lisa Deck (@lbdeck) and Emily McIntosh (@mcintose). Their scholarship goes towards attending the The Patient Experience Symposium.

Research shows that engaged patients at healthcare conferences increase information flow, expand propagation , and deepen engagement in the conversation, what does true involvement of patients and care partners in healthcare conferences look like? And how does patient accessibility come into play?

Let’s discuss Friday, April 19th on Twitter (or at 10:00 am Pacific / 1:00 pm Eastern. Be sure to include the hashtag #patientchat in all your responses!

Guiding our discussion will be the following Topic (T#:) Questions:

T1: As a patient, have you ever attended an industry conference to represent the patient voice? Did you feel welcome to attend? Was there support? #patientchat

T2: As a non-patient conference attendee, do you consider the attendance of patients as you select conferences you’re attending? Does #PatientsIncluded, patient scholarships, etc. cross your mind? #patientchat

T3: What is the value in lowering barriers to conference access/attendance to patients? What are conferences missing out on when they don’t include patients? #patientchat
