Empowered #patientchat – Precision Medicine Today

After experiencing some technical difficulties on Twitter on June 1st, we are going to take another shot at this topic. We hope you will join us on June 15th!

You’re Invited! We hope you will join us for our next Empowered #patientchat as we discuss precision medicine and what that means for patients today.

During this tweetchat, we will be tweeting live from Chicago for this year’s ASCO meeting. Since this year’s ASCO theme is Delivering Discoveries: Expanding the Reach of Precision Medicine, we thought it only fitting to have our #patientchat on precision medicine.

Precision medicine (PM) is a medical model that proposes the customization of healthcare, with medical decisions, treatments, practices, or products being tailored to the individual patient.

Guiding our discussion will be the following Topic (T#:) Questions:

T1: Tell us about your experience with #PrecisionMedicine, either as a patient or provider? #patientchat

T2: What do you think are the biggest challenges in developing personalized therapies? #patientchat

T3: Should healthy people have their genome sequenced? Is it too much a burden to have all of that information? #patientchat

T4: Has precision medicine changed the way providers interact with patients? If yes, how so? #patientchat

T5: Precision medicines are costly. How can we influence insurers so more patients can benefit? #patientchat

T6: What do you see for the future of precision medicine? #patientchat

T7: What role do empowered patients play in the #PrecisionMedicine evolution/revolution? #patientchat

We hope to see you Friday, June 15th on Twitter (or tchat.io/rooms/patientchat) at 10:00 am Pacific / 1:00 pm Eastern. Be sure to include the hashtag #patientchat in all your responses!
