Empowerment Lead Program

Help From People Who Have Been There

The Empowerment Lead program partners with our cancer community in an effort to join hands with you as patients and care partners to further enhance health literacy. The Empowerment Lead program was launched in March 2020 and has grown exponentially into an award-winning hub of true patient empowerment.

Our Empowerment Lead program is made up of highly passionate empowerment ambassadors volunteering from around the country, engaging with PEN’s network of cancer patients and families, and serving as a direct conduit of empowerment. Our goal for this program is to support health communities around important topics and provide navigation for the path to empowerment.

Empowerment Leads

Our strong team of compassionate volunteers does not give medical advice, instead, they help health communities adapt to the realities of living with a serious illness. PEN Empowerment Leads pay it forward as the communities’ human bridge to survivorship as they understand first-hand the anxieties and uncertainties that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Joining PEN’s network of empowerment leads has truly been inspiring. Although we’re all across the world, conversing with them via email and Zoom chats and hearing their stories and thoughts of how to resonate with more patients is what feeds my soul.
