Renal medullary carcinoma (RMC) is a rare form of kidney cancer. It almost exclusively affects young individuals of African descent who carry sickle cell disease, sickle cell trait, or other sickle hemoglobinopathies.

- Medullary: Relating to the inner region of an organ, tissue, or structure.
- Carcinoma: A type of cancer that starts in the cells lining organs.
