Breast cancer is a type of cancer that forms in the cells of the breast. It occurs when abnormal cells in the breast grow uncontrollably and can develop in different parts of the breast, such as the ducts, lobules, or connective tissue.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women, affecting one in eight women during their lives. Breast cancer can occur in men, but it is rare, accounting for less than 1% of all breast cancer cases.
