Program Manager

Since I was eight years old, I’ve been passionate about social justice and health equity, roles that have defined my path in social work. As the Program Manager at PEN, I am committed to advocating for accessible healthcare and empowering patients to navigate their health journeys. Growing up in a community facing significant healthcare challenges sparked my drive to ensure that no one feels alone in their vulnerable moments.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from York College, where I also set up a foundation for my future career choice. In the Fall of 2024, I will further my dedication to social justice and advocacy by pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW), with a concentration on policy, advocacy, and program implementation—especially for marginalized Spanish-speaking communities. My experience with the Cancer Support Community Helpline has sharpened my advocacy and empathy skills. I put my lifelong dedication towards improving the healthcare industry to reality by utilizing my experiences at PEN to develop programs that address health inequities.

My family, includes my four children, Jailey (13), Jaslene (8), Elijah (4), and Ellie (20 months), and our furry puppy friend, Stitch, who inspire me daily to continue making a meaningful impact.
