Small cell lung cancer is a rare fast-growing lung cancer and represents about 15% of lung cancer diagnoses. It can affect anyone but it typically affects people who have a long history of smoking tobacco.
There are two main types:
- Small-cell carcinoma (oat cell cancer)
- Combined small-cell carcinoma
