Online communities provide an alternative means of support for patients and care partners by linking people with similar issues. where people with common goals, interests & values can unite with no geographical barriers
Guiding our discussion will be the following Topic (T#:) Questions:
T1: What makes a good online community? Tell us about some of your favorites. #patientchat
T2: Have online communities helped you in your own healthcare? How so? #patientchat
T3: What are the challenges of being a part of an online community? How can we overcome them? #patientchat
T4: Are online communities the same as support groups? What can live support groups learn from online communities & vice versa? #patientchat
T5: Do you use social media platforms differently when talking about your health? For example, Facebook vs. Twitter? #patientchat
T6: Research shows that most patients prefer Facebook to discuss their health. How can we share #patientchat resources and information with these folks?
